Hi. I’m Katie Poidomani, digital content writer, editor, copywriter and owner of Edge Editing.
I have spent the past 20 years utilising my skills as a digital content writer, copywriter, proofreader, and copyeditor for a variety of industries including government, radio, science, education, and research. I have also volunteered as a reading tutor, English language teacher (working with migrants to learn everyday language skills) and children’s book reviewer.
How I have helped others
I have written: chatbot question and answer pairs, website copy, newsletters, media releases, reports, magazine copy, marketing materials, and blogs. I have also managed and edited various websites using a variety of CRMs, although I started back when you needed to know HTML.
I have edited: theses in a variety of subject areas, annual reports, annual operating plans, magazines, journals, university guides, and communication and marketing materials for a variety of stakeholders and audiences.
I have always been a word nerd
My first editing job came at the age of ten when I co-wrote, edited and published my primary school’s first newspaper. I was a reading tutor in high school helping students for whom English was not their first language. I continued my love of reading through to university where I received a BA in English Literature and History. I believe in helping children to develop a reading habit when young and have been a member of the Children’s Book Council of Australia Canberra chapter and a book reviewer for their journal Reading Time.
I am also a certified TEFL–TESOL teacher, having graduated a 150-hour Master course with an A grade. I have taught English to children in China and taught conversational English classes to adults. Along with a Diploma of Publishing (Professional Book Editing, Proofreading and Publishing), I have completed various short courses in English grammar, plain English writing, report writing, creative writing, web design, self-publishing, and publishing on the Internet. I am also a Professional Member of the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd).
How I can help you
My job is to make words perform, to tell a story and help you deliver content that converts. I believe in providing quality, accurate and professional services to all of my clients and look forward to working with you on your next project.
